UX/UI Design and Website Development for TAURON Arena Kraków
Project summary:
New Architecture and Performance – We designed a new database structure from the ground up, allowing the site to load faster and efficiently handle thousands of events.
Modern UX/UI – We created a clear, high-contrast layout with interchangeable UX modules that make it easy to find key information on every subpage.
Migration and Automation – We migrated over 4,000 events using a dedicated migration bot and implemented AI-powered automatic content translation.
Security and Accessibility – We have secured the website against bot attacks and designed a mobile-optimized, interactive map of the facility.
Our client
TAURON Arena Kraków is the largest and most modern sports and entertainment arena in Poland, with a capacity of up to 22,000 spectators. The venue hosts major sporting events, concerts, and business events, which is why its website must meet the expectations of both fans and corporate partners.
New database structure and loading speed
We have designed from scratch a new architecture for the database, optimised for the handling thousands of events and dynamically changing content. We have implemented refactoring of the backend and implemented caching mechanisms. This resulted in an improvement in better website performance, higher scores for Core Web Vitals and a genuinely noticeable to users smoothness of operation of the website.
Front End
We designed the website layout based on the principles of high contrast and a clear visual hierarchy, so that key information – the events calendar, tickets and contact details – is accessible in an intuitive way. The interface was developed in accordance with best practices in UI design, whilst ensuring full responsiveness (RWD) and compliance with WCAG standards.
UX Modules
On individual subpages, we have implemented interchangeable UX modules, which allow administrators to independently display relevant information and links related to the topic of a given section of the website.
This modular approach allows for flexible content management without the need for technical intervention and enables communication to be tailored to current business needs. This solution significantly shortens the user’s path to the information they are looking for.
Quick AI Translation
We have implemented an AI-powered automatic content translation mechanism, thanks to which all new posts are made available to English-speaking users almost immediately after the Polish version is published.
This solution eliminates delays in multilingual communication, which are so critical when managing international events and guests at the arena. It saves the editorial team a significant amount of time while maintaining content consistency across both language versions.
Hall and VIP area rental offer
Renting out the arena and VIP boxes is one of the client’s key revenue streams, which is why we designed a dedicated page showcasing this part of their offering. The section includes a detailed description of the zones, an interactive floor plan of the venue, and contact forms to facilitate the quick generation of business leads. This approach directly supports the client’s sales and financial goals.
The ticket purchase process
We have designed a flexible purchasing process in which users can choose their preferred ticket portal for a given event.
Data migration
One of the biggest challenges of the project was the migration of more than 4 thousand events from the previous version of the website. To ensure full data integrity of the data, we wrote a dedicated migration bot, which automatically moved and organised the entire database of events and posts. This approach made it possible to preserve the history of events whilst simultaneously implementation of a new data structure.
Website security
Given the scale of traffic and the high brand recognition of the brand, we have implemented comprehensive security measures to protect the website from attacks by bots and traffic generated automatically. The anti-bot and rate-limiting solutions protect the website against overload and unauthorised access to resources.
Interactive map of the facility
We have optimized the interactive map of TAURON Arena Kraków for mobile devices. This solution significantly improves navigation within the venue both before and during events, even when there is heavy foot traffic.
