Project objectives
The Bydgoszcz Regional Museum approached us with a request to improve its image. Our client wanted us to create a new website, incorporating new navigation in line with UX principles. An additional aim of our work was to showcase the museum’s exhibitions effectively.
Blog
We have simplified the navigation and messaging on the website. We have consolidated the complex structure of information into a single location. Users can now find content relating to events, exhibitions and announcements on the news page. In addition, we have organised the museum’s branches into two tabs: ‘exhibitions’ and ‘education’.
To enhance the user experience, we have implemented separate navigation systems for desktop devices (megamenu) and mobile devices (shift nav). One of the website’s features is the museum events calendar. Furthermore, we have adapted the website to comply with WCAG requirements, ensuring that the site is also accessible to users with disabilities.
Museum buildings
We have created a subpage listing the museum’s buildings. Users can now easily find information on visiting the museum, individual exhibitions and how to get to selected venues (shown on the maps).
Downloads
To enhance the user experience, we have introduced the option to download multimedia content directly from the museum’s website. Users can access audio and video files, as well as other educational materials.
Events and news
The subpage featuring events and news from the museum’s activities contains tabs that allow website users to filter specific entries. In addition, visitors can search for an article of interest based on its publication date.
