Why is it worth installing an SSL certificate?
An SSL certificate is one of the ranking factors that determine a website’s position in Google search results. If you want to build credibility, consider purchasing one.
What is an SSL certificate?
A certificate that ensures the confidentiality of data transmission and has been adopted as the standard for encryption on websites. The https protocol, visible in the browser address bar, informs users of the website’s reliability. One of the trusted SSL certificate authorities in Poland is CERTUM – Powszechne Centrum Certyfikacji.
Three times YES
Are you wondering whether you need SSL? Our answer is: YES. If at least one
of the following applies to your online business, you should definitely consider installing it:
- you run a website or own an e-commerce business;
- do you want to boost your website’s credibility;
- you store your customers’ confidential data (e.g. bank account details in the case of online shops)
What are the benefits of installing an SSL certificate?
Firstly, better search engine rankings. Google ranks websites with an SSL certificate higher.
Second, the reach of the services you offer will increase. Websites without the distinctive “https” are visited less often because they seem suspicious and unsafe to users. The message indicating a lack of security in the browser address bar deters many of them.

Thirdly, compliance with the law. Since 2018, the GDPR has made it compulsory to hold a certificate. Owners of online services are obliged to guarantee their customers the confidentiality of data sent electronically.
Fourthly, encrypted connections and full website protection. SSL certificates are registered to a specific domain name and contain detailed information about the owner’s identity. Your data will be cryptographically secured.
How do I install SSL?
The installation of an SSL certificate varies depending on the server. The implementation process also depends on the type of certificate and the terms and conditions set by its issuer. In addition to the SSL certificate, you will also need to enter the root CA certificate and the intermediate CA certificate.

Types of SSL certificates SSL
What type of certificate do you need? If you’re looking for basic protection for your website, choose Domain Validation (DV).
If you would like to be even more trustworthy and have not only your domain but also your company verified, consider installing Organisation Validation (OV). This type of SSL certificate will ensure that your company name appears in the address bar.

However, advanced options, such as verifying the legal status or actual operation of a business, are guaranteed by Extended Validation (EV).
One certificate per domain?
Please note that a single certificate only protects a specific website address. However, for owners of multiple domains, three measures have been introduced: SAN – secures alternative names, such as, for example, www.twojastrona.com.pl and yourwebsite.com.pl. UCC – ensures that a single certificate protects several domains belonging to the same owner, whilst Wildcard also covers all subdomains for the selected domain.

Installation of an SSL certificate is not expensive, and will significantly improve the security of your website. If you have any questions regarding choosing the right type or publisher, please contact our agency. We’d be happy to help you set up a padlock!
